FHE help?

I need some help planning a FHE lesson on an unusual topic and I'm hoping someone can help me out. I decided our next family home evening lesson will be about "tact...or how to avoid making your mom cry in the middle of a store by telling her she looks pregnant". Can anyone help me out with any cute flannel board stories or scripture references?

  1. I think blogging is therapeutic...I already feel better. Sorry about venting.

  2. That is a very good question--How do you teach kids tact? Your kids obviously have forgotten what a pregnant woman looks like. Fortunately for me, I am way too old for questions like that even though I could easily pass for being six months pregnant.

  3. I am SO sorry!

I HATE when stuff like that happens!

I feel even worse when they say stuff like that to other people.

We read a book called The Compassionate Beast. It is all about how to teach our children to be compassionate...being able to understand how what you do and say make other people feel.

    I highly recommend it.

We also have a FHE on compassion if you are intereted.

  4. It had to be one of your boys-since this is definitely a "man" thing!

I know because I am a man and still tactless (and clueless) a lot of the time. It is something that we apparently never outgrow.

So, don't be too hard on Spencer or Adam-as they can't help it-as it is genetic.

By the way, are you pregnant...again?

    Love, Dad

  5. Dad--
You are so rude! Why would it make me cry if someone asked if I were pregnant...if I really were? He must've gotten it from YOU! °Ü°

  6. I can't believe one of your children asked YOU that! It's a good thing they haven't seen me lately! (o:

I'm so sorry! I hope the tact lesson goes well!
