Witless

I've just spent the last hour working on a post that was going to be really interesting and witty. You would've loved it!

Too bad you'll never see it or the disastrous attempt.

Wit is always a quality I've admired in others and strove to develop in myself. And I am having a bit of a mid-life crisis as I realize that wittiness is a gift. A gift that I have none of.

My brain just doesn't think that way or that quickly. And never will.

A wit appreciator is all I'll ever be.

*sigh* That felt good to get that off my chest.

So throwing aside all attempts at humor and cleverness so I can go to bed, here is the gist of the almost stupendous post ...

Spencer and Glen have been away at scout camp all week. With Adam left as the sole representative of the male gender in our family, our house has been kind of girly. Fun for a while, but we're missing our boys. Glen has just come home. °Ü° Yay! Spencer will be home on Saturday. The End.

Happy Independence Day!

Oh yeah--don't forget to leave me lots of witty comments, so I can vicariously be associated with your charm and wittiness.

  1. Lara, I hate to admit this publicly, but the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. And you are definitely your father's daughter!!

Not only am I witless (mom has been saying that for years), but I do not have an ounce of wit in my soul. It really is a gift. I always think of the right thing to say or the perfect come-back a day or so too late. Put me on the spot and I freeze.

I had a missionary companion that I always envied because he always had a quick and perfect comeback or putdown. Truly a gift.

And probably just as well that I did not get that gift-as it sometimes better to bite your tongue and not have to apologize later.

Charm on the other hand I am full of. And, of course, not the only thing that I am full of. But, I will leave that to your wit to imagine.

    Love, Dad

  2. I didn't get any wit either, especially when I'm tired, which is all the time!

Pete, can you please say something witty for us?

    Happy 4th of July!

  4. You so TOTALLY crack me up.

I find you both witty and charming! I think it isn't always those that don't already think so who have it the most.

It's when you THINK you're witty that you run into problems!

  5. I love your comments and the way you write your blog. I wish I could write as well as you. I enjoy every blog that you have written. I love having pedicures, and only get them as my Mother's Day gift every year, so it's nice that you have someone to do it for you!:)
