What's the Verdict?

Should I feel guilty that I left Spencer babysitting tonight and there happened to be a tornado warning that brought them all panicked and hiding out in the basement for 1/2 hour AND then shortly after that excitement ended Ellie threw up?

Or is it penance enough that I came home at 10:00pm to find...

my living room looking like this...

my entry way like this...

my kitchen like this....

AND dried throw-up all over the basement?

  2. LOL! My favorite part about it all is that you took photos.

I think it's safe to say that you both suffered tonight!

  4. I didn't even know there was a tornado warning. I hope you did something fun at least before you came home to that.

  6. Apparently there wasn't ever really a tornado on the ground--just some funnel clouds near our home. When I called a friend get the whole scoop and to find out whether I should rush home or not, they were also unaware of the warning. Thankfully it was expiring in a mere 5 minutes after the kids called me, and the threat had mostly passed by then. Frankly I was proud of the kids for knowing to go hunker down. It's really not that often we get real deal tornado warnings.

And to think when I left home it wasn't even raining and Ellie was playing happily...

  7. Not sure if you remember some of the tornado warnings of your MN childhood, but some of them are still vivid in my memory.

I am sure that your kids may soon forget the messes they made last night, but will never forget the rush of fear and adrenalin they felt when they heard about the tornado warning.

    Love, Grandpa-Grandma
