New Tactic...

Every year Halloween marks my downward spiral into my months long holiday junk food extravaganza! So this year I decided my self control needed a little boost...

I bought candy that I didn't like. I may not be very original, but I'm hopeful that Twizzlers and Nerds just won't call out to me like chocolatey treats like Reese's and Snickers seem to do.

  1. My goal to not eat chocolate this year is a mixed blessing. On the bright side, I will not gain as much weight. On the down side, the holidays are not as fun without chocolate. Particularly Halloween and Christmas will be hard. Let's hope that I do not overdo it in 2009 and wind up turning into a chocolate bunny.

  2. I do this every year...and it's great...until the kids come back from trick or treating...then I am doomed!!!!

  3. it's a good idea! buy candy you don't like, then you don't eat it. that's what i should do. oh wait, i don't have to buy candy for halloween so when i buy candy that means i want to eat it. anyways, that's all.

  4. Great idea! Too bad I've already started my downward spiral with apple pie, apple crisp and ice cream, and other apple goodies. I just can't help myself in the fall.

    At least the new year isn't all that far away for me to pledge my resolution to lose weight again!

  5. Your plan wouldn't work for me, because one day I would have a craving for sweets and I would open a bag and start munching away even if I didn't like it, just so I could get my sugar fix. Then I would eat a ton of unsatisfying calories. That's why my plan is to not buy halloween candy until halloween and put any leftover candy on freecycle after halloween. Am I silly or what?
