The Apple Doesn't Fall Far...

A true story that gives you a little glimpse into the mindset of an eight-year-old [and her mother]:

"Hey Emma! Those boots are so cute. Are they new?"

[in eager, excited tones] "Yeah. My Mom got them for me and they were supposed to be $3.99 at Unique [the thrift store], but they were an extra 25% off so they were only $2.99. And if we got them new at the store they'd be at least $30 or more. They still had tags on them. Can you believe it?"
"Um, okay."

So cool that we both have 5 kids, live in the DC area, and are LDS. :)
