Big Announcement...

I know you've all been waiting on pins and needles for me to announce the winner to this contest. So here you go...

For our combined Christmas/anniversary gift we finally threw away our 25-year-old bed and mattress, that has been not-so-kindly referred to as the "pool table bed" and a "hunk of junk" by smirking relatives (including ourselves)...

and replaced it with...

So the winner of the contest is...My long lost friend Andrea from Minnesota who guessed it exactly right! Andrea, you can email or send me a facebook message with your home address and I'll get your disclaimer forms and skills quiz to you right away!

Although Andrea may be the winner of the contest, I must say that after the fabulous night's rest I had last night I'm feeling like the biggest winner of all!

  1. Yay! I'm so excited!

So glad you like your sleep number bed. We bought one 2 or 3 years ago because Ryan's shoulder hurt so much from his car accident and it's helped his shoulder a lot.

Why is your old bed called the pool table bed? Is it made of green felt or something?

  3. I should have guessed that! Monte and I had been sleeping on the same bed we bought off the BYU board 10 years ago! But we too this year bought a new mattress it is blissful not to have the one spring hitting me in the bum all night long!
    Congratulations!!

  4. Andie, to answer your question, their old bed is truly a Crain family heirloom passed down from generation to generation all the way back to the old railroad town of Blaine up in the northwoods territory of Minnesota. It is an old supernatural waterbed haunted by the ghosts of untold Minnesnowta winters.

Legend has it that its previous owners once awoke to a massive wet...nightmare (what did you think I was going to say) with inches of water inundating their bedroom and the one below.

The old water mattress was replaced the next morning with a regular one, but we were never certain how the whole massive monstrosity ended up on the east coast.

Its got to be an official antique by now and is probably worth anywhere between $15-$50 on Antique Roadshow.

Congrats on winning! And congrats to Lara and Glen for finally breaking down and ponying up for a new bed! May they have many sweet nights of peaceful sleep!!
