Not me! I Would Never Make Groundhogs to Order.

Not me. I totally did NOT cringe in horror when Cami counted up that I would have to make EIGHT dozen Groundhog's Day cupcakes this year for the kids to take to their classes.
And I certainly did not even think of complaining when I was informed that I would have to make a separate batch of peanut free cupcakes for Emma's class. And then another separate batch of egg free, peanut free cupcakes for Adam's class. I was totally cool with it. I like culinary challenges.

You know I would never even think of getting grumpy at the kids for coating every surface of my kitchen in frosting. I rather like the "SCRMMPU" sound it makes when I walk across a sticky floor.

Certainly I did not end up with a sugar induced headache after breaking my fast with licks of icing. That's just gross. I would never do that.

Then when the kids excitedly started talking about next year's batch, I absolutely did not roll my eyes and shudder at the thought.

Not me.
I love Groundhog's Day!

  4. What a great mom you are! I was feeling a little sad today that I didn't have time to prepare these over the weekend for Sophie to take to preschool today...but after reading your story, it sounds like it's for the best! ;)

  7. I got out of that one by using a loophole: Our school district does not allow homemade treats to be shared at school in any form. Totally lame, but handy in this situation. ;-)

  9. Ummm...that last comment was definitely not from me. I can only assume it was Cami, who indeed was a very helpful addition to our groundhog team. But she got to go to bed while I kept decorating and cleaning and cleaning and cleaning some more. Emma was also very helpful in the process, so I guess I should really say that together we made 96.

  11. Break your fast with icing? Gross. (I am laughing and shaking my head at the same time).

By the way, I like your new header. How on earth do you find the time to write such great posts, clean up after 8 dozen groundhogs and keep up with kids? Impressive.
