Ode to a Bug Splattered Sunset -- by Lara

Softly glowing orb of orange and pinks,
Sinking slowly, ever slowly into the black.

but start to wonder if it's time to take my camera back,

from my eager child who plainly does not mind,
that now  it will never be forgotten,

that there is more gunk on our car; front-end and behind,
than ever should be gotten.

  1. Lara, you are truly far more talented than even your very proud father could have ever imagined.

Just when I couldn't get any more proud of you-you surprise me with another new heretofore hidden talent.

Imagine my high energy supermom, super photog, superchef, eldest child is also a "poet". Who would've guessed it?

  2. You are a very talented poet Lara.

So, Dad how do you describe me? Clearly, I couldn't be half as cool as Lara!

  3. Someday I'm going to remember that I'm not near as uproariously funny during daylight hours as I am to myself at midnight.
