Most of you may remember this post about how they were building our favorite fast food restaurant a mere mile or so from our house? Well, since then we have each gained 935 lbs. and have become among their most loyal customers.
So, the other day I asked someone what they thought about the new Chick-fil-A and they told me they'd never been there and wondered what I thought was so great about it.
After dropping my mouth open in horror that there was someone hadn't tasted their crispy chicken sandwich slathered with Polynesian sauce, I decided I need to summarize my feelings about it here on the blog so that next time I'm prepared with a better come-back than "The food is all cooked in peanut oil".
So why is Chick-fil-A our favorite restaurant?
1. peanut oil is addictive and makes their food taste leaps and bounds better than average fast food fare(I'm going to try deep frying my broccoli in peanut oil next time to see if that helps the kids eat it better)
2. it has a play center for the kids to burn off all the calories they consume there
3. it's closed on Sunday, so we're not even slightly tempted to stop for an easy Sabbath dinner (not that it would tempt us even if it were open, but you know it is nice to support a business that supports good values)
4. their milk shakes are delish and totally worth the horrible indigestion that milk inflicts upon me!
5. their employees actually speak English and make you think they're actually glad to help you
6. they have cool give-aways where you can dress up like a cow or wear your team colors and get free food
Speaking of cool giveaways, on Labor day we heard that they were giving away free sandwiches to anyone wearing their favorite sporting apparel. We were still on a high from BYU's miraculous win against OU and weren't about to let an opportunity for free food (and a chance to show off our true blue colors) to pass us by.
We walked in there and just like that they handed over 7 sandwiches to us.
Then we noticed our good friends, the Nielsons, sitting there in all their BYU gear there for their second meal of the day.
Upon a little more looking around we found that our little Chick-fil-A was filled with other Cougar fans and that we probably could have just planned a ward party there and taken over management.

Who would have ever guessed that Mormons like free food so much?

That's hilarious that so many people from church were there! I also saw the free sandwich giveaway, but we don't have a restaurant within 50 miles of us. I have to say I haven't been to Chick-fil-a in many years. You'll have to take me next time you come to town.
ReplyDeleteI meant next time I come to town. haha! (o:
ReplyDeleteYeah, Mormons and free food, who'd have thunk?
ReplyDeleteWe have two CFA's within a 5 minute drive and we missed the giveaway! I can't believe how many people have told us about it after the fact. I hate missing free food!
ReplyDeleteLOVE that place!! The kids have me dropping off lunches for them from there now and again. Makes their week! :)
ReplyDeleteSorry, that was me above. I too, haven't tried this place before. It sounds yummy! Do they deliver? Do we even have one here in MN?
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog and I love it! You've got so many yummy recipes :)

Ummm, I'm one of those people who has never eaten at Chick-fil-a. Will you still be my friend? Sorry, I don't remember the last time I ate fast food, but I eat ice cream in bed every night. Often with pie.
ReplyDeleteI was going to suggest you send your post into to Chick-fil-a and they would send you coupons for free sandwiches, until I read the rest of your post, and then I decided that it wouldn't be a good idea. How many free meals can you eat in one day?
