Lazy Dazy Saturday...

It was just a lazy rainy Saturday morning.  Everyone slept in late.  We ate a hearty warm breakfast of Cami's apple walnut pancakes ....

while the kids labored diligently cutting out snowflakes....

to replace the autumn leaves on our front window...

when all of the sudden the beautiful paper snowflake creations....

made way for a frosty flaky surprise falling from the sky.

With snow a rare and treasured treat in our neck of the words, the chores went on the back burner...

and made way for a day filled with snow angels....

 sledding and muddy snowmen...

a lucrative snow shoveling stint for Spencer and his friend....
(disclaimer: This photo was actually taken last year.  This year he worked with a different friend in another neighborhood [far away from my camera] and ended up with  105 bucks burning a hole in his pocket.)

a whole host of sopping wet socks, gloves, hats, scarves, and snow pants cluttering up our entry way....

and smiles galore.

PS  You'll find the answer to the last post tacked on to the end of it.

  1. Hi Lara, Finally I am able to leave you a comment, every time I've tried lately my computer freezes up. :( Loved all the recent posts, love the pic of Spencer with a wad of cash, love your blue and brown paint with the white trim, love that you photoshopped your husband's face onto your daughter's body, can't wait to try letterboxing (in six months or so when we unthaw around here). You guys are awesome!

  3. Hi Andie!! Hope you guys are enjoying your new home and ward. Bet you miss the Anoka Ward.

Lara, thanks for the snow report, as we haven't seen much yet this winter with a very dry October and November.

But, you pictures of your entryway filled with wet boots, gloves, hats, coats, etc. brought back a lot memories of MN winters when you all were young.

  4. I'm actually looking forward to the snow, not the bitter frigid cold that comes with it. My kids are anxiously waiting too for it.

BTW, I'm also looking forward to the gazillion dollars. I'm not very good in math, but that does seem like a lot!!!:)

My nephew had the exact same look as one of your siblings when a dog was nearby!!LOL!

  9. YES! We used the cooking cutters on our instant (batter blaster!) pancakes on SUnday. Next time I think we'll try the pumpkin recipe from their site.
We love 'em and it's the easiest way we have found to get them something hot to eat on these cold mornings!
    Bring on winter!!!!
