End of an Era

Today I did two things:

1.  I filled out the preschool survey form from our elementary school where we indicated our intention to send Ellie to kindergarten next year.

2.  I officially announced my impending retirement as the preschool coordinator in the ward.

While I know that life (and co-op preschool) will go on without me, I just can't seem to shake the feeling that after eleven years of participation and eight years of being in charge, that somehow I'm selling my baby off.

  1. End of eras are sometimes sad, but there will be new adventures in your life. ie. PTA president, School Board member, Football team pre-dinner coordinator (ok, just kidding on the last one!) ;o)

Congrats on a job well done with the pre-school!!

I think this means that our baby is officially getting old...

  2. I know how you feel...I am feeling the end of era when my youngest turns 5 and thus ends my years of being a preschool mother! I too belong to a pre-school co-operative (Playcentre) and it will be odd not having it there, but I wonder if I will be ready to move on in 2 years time, or they will have to pry my fingers off the Playcentre gate!

  3. I'm sure I speak for about a hundred other "Our Cool Preschool" moms when I say many thanks for a job well done. But your parents are right. You'll be PTA president before you know it.

And who says we have to stop going to Cox Farms, the Tiny Tots concert, the zoo, . . .

  4. We certainly are grateful for all the time and energy you've put into the co-op preschool over the years! Your shoes will be hard to fill for who ever decides to take over.

  7. Wow, such an overwhelming empty and full feeling at the same time, isn't it? My life is so full of change that I feel that 'end of era' feeling all too often. I am a bit jealous though of your track record... eleven years!! I'm lucky if I get 3 years out of anything, ha ha!

You put a lot of work into it, it is part of who you are, and you'll use this experiences in the many endeavors you'll pursue. One thing is for sure, you're always moving, always doing, always sharing your talents and I look forward to seeing what you're next era brings.
