Meet our next-door neighbor's tree. It's cute and has such a friendly face....
But I'm here to tell you it's all a facade.
These lovely branches are pure evil.
Not only does it drop 98% of its leaves straight into OUR yard, but it also sneezes branches into our yard like Glen after he catches whiff of a cat.
It took 6 people working for 2 hours straight in the boiling hot sun with a hatchet, handsaw, and slew of bags to finally take care of this week's "sneezing fit".
There is a bright side, however. That's that many branches fewer that can drop their leaves on us in a couple of months...
Evil tree.
That face is priceless!
ReplyDeleteIs it a silver maple? Those things are all over the place here (we have one in the front and the back yard ourselves) and they're awful when it comes to dropping branches. Hate them, hate them, hate them!
ReplyDeleteBut at least you got some family bonding time out of it?
Dang that's a lot of branches! That does not look fun.
ReplyDeleteWait was there a big wind storm or did they just fall off?!
AnnaLisa,
ReplyDeleteIt was a storm. Within 2 minutes of the storm hitting, all that landed in our front yard.
Alex,
Yes, I believe it is a silver maple. We have a few in our yard, which are all obnoxious, but that particular one is the worst out of all of them. And it seems even worse because it's not even our tree. They get the shade and the beauty and we get all the leaves and branches.
Wow! That's a crazy tree! It's too bad the neighbor doesn't come pick up his tree's mess!
ReplyDeleteI like the face. I assume that was photoshopped in. I personally think it would be funny to add a face like that to trees in our yard. I bet the HOA wouldn't like it though. (o:
Alas Kristina, the face on the tree is decidedly NOT photoshopped. It actually does look all cute and innocent like that and all kids adore it.
