- Hours and hours of intense drilling,
- Gallons of tears,
- A parent-teacher conference,
- Pop quizzes at school AND at home....

So, I was just remembering that I didn't have to learn my multiplication facts until fourth grade. Is this a nationwide trend to do it a year earlier? Or is it just our school district? Do you remember when you learned multiplication?

Yay, Emma! Great work. It isn't easy...we understand the buckets of tears over multiplication facts here, too. :)
ReplyDeleteWay to go Emmakins!! We are so proud of you and your hard work.
ReplyDeleteMath does not come easy for most of us, so your 100% is quite an achievement.
Congrats!!
Love, Grandpa-Grandma

ReplyDeleteI am so proud of you Emma.
ReplyDeleteLove, Grandma
I learned multiplication in my fourth year of sixth grade.
ReplyDeleteWoo-hoo! Great job Emma!!
ReplyDeleteWhen I taught school 24 years ago or so....I started teaching multiplication tables in second grade.... Some kids had them ready by then, and some didn't.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Emma!
ReplyDeleteI remember really getting drilled on multiplication in fifth grade. We may have started it in fourth before but it wasn't as focused.
All schools across the nation are moving things back though. With all the new information they have to start teaching things earlier and earlier.
