- 10-1/2 straight years, several of those being "in charge"...
- At least 180 lessons prepared...
- Over $25,000 saved in tuition fees...
- Countless late-night trips to Michaels for that "one more thing"....
- Gathering an arsenal of creative snack and craft ideas...
- Developing wicked fast scissoring skills...
- Knowing that my kids are being taught by righteous and creative mothers who share similar values to me....
I taught my last preschool lesson today.
I didn't know if I'd be happy or sad when this day finally came and now that it's here I don't feel remarkably one way or the other. In fact, I mostly just feel tired and like I need to go to bed.
Yay! Boo hoo! Zzzzzz....

Wow. I would be shouting for joy! Preschoolers are fun and cute, but I wouldn't want to teach them! YAY for you for being done!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you taught preschool. I knew I liked you! Congrats on 10 years.
ReplyDeleteWhat a transition! When I eventually leave Playcentre it will be weird...all the friendships that were made, the familiar faces that greet you, the wonderful interactions with the kids. I'm sure it will be fine, and I will be ready to move on. Congrats for putting in so many great years! All the best for the next phase of your life ;)
ReplyDeleteBittersweet! I'm glad that I know about your preschool site now though!
ReplyDeleteBig Kudos to you, Lara! I don't think anyone will ever really fill your shoes in that position.
ReplyDeleteOn a somewhat related note, is Rocky okay?
Oh, and I need to talk to you about preschool graduation. :)
Awesome! You definitely deserve a good, long nap.
ReplyDeleteI taught my last preschool lesson for Corinne last week and I was overjoyed. Hayley's only 18 mos. so I guess I get a couple of years off this time until we start over again. The challenge for me is finding enough other mothers who want to do this! Most seem to prefer paying someone else to teach their children--that didn't sound judgmental at all, did it?
ReplyDeleteHi Lara-
ReplyDeleteI always love to "meet" others who are doing preschool co-ops. There aren't very many! Have you written a post about all that you've learned through your years of preschooling? I'd love to get your insight, since my oldest is just going to kindergarten and I plan to do preschool co-ops for as long as I can.
Congrats on doing it for all of your kids! It's an amazing accomplishment.
Congrats! You're awesome!
