Day 311: I ♥ Home Depot Kids' Workshop

We love the Kids' Workshop that Home Depot hosts the first Saturday of every month.  The kids think it's the coolest thing in the world to wield their own hammer and nails....

They love the sense of accomplishment when their project is done....

and they love that no matter what time we go, there's always at least a friend or two there.   Today there were four.

Day 292--Reunited!

Ever since Ellie's good friend, Eve, started kindergarten, it's been a little lonelier around here. Ellie has other good friends, but she's been missing her good friend Eve!

Today our busy schedules finally meshed and Ellie and Eve got to have their first play date of the new school year and it was just like old times again (dress-ups, dolls, pretend, and lots and lots of giggling).

Then we had these cute little cupcakes for our FHE treat!

Day 174--Lazy Summer Days

Just chilling on the trampoline with their friends--popsicles in hand.  What could better epitomize a lazy summer day?  Too bad with 10 kids at my house at one time my day was anything but lazy.  :)

Day 155--Preschool Party and We Haz Jazz

It was one of those days that I was hardly home the entire day.  We started off with some early morning panic getting ready for Cami's "We Haz Jazz" performance today, driving them to school, dropping Ellie off at Eve's house, and taking Spencer to the doctor for a check-up.  Then I went straight to Ellie's preschool end-of-year party where she had a fantastic time starting the summer off by playing with her friends.  Of course I didn't mind the opportunity that I got to "play" with my friends too.  :)

After the party I had about an hour and a half at home before it was time to run to the school to help count the money from the PTA book fair, from which I went straight to pick up Ellie & Emma from the Tippets', and then to the bank to deposit the book fair money, then back to the school for Cami's performance.
Cami made a stunning performance as Thelonius and then finally we came back home just in time to eat a bowl of cereal for dinner and put the kids to bed!    Now it's my turn for bed!

Day 141--Butterflies and Chicks

Today I had two big things which were worth being pictures of the day, so today is a picture bonus day. Here are Ellie and her friend Eve all wrapped up in their chrysalises about to become beautiful butterflies on my last day of teaching preschool for the year! 9-1/2 years (in a row) down only one more to go!!!!!!!

Right after preschool Ellie and I walked to the elementary school to watch the kindergartners perform "The Little Red Hen", which was just as cute and well done as when Emma's class did it two years ago!

What's wrong with this picture?

Here's a hint....

First person to guess correctly wins an awesomely cool prize of a super secret nature that is not worth any money, but is totally priceless.

Day 76--Feeling Green

Preschool was at our house today. I felt like I cheated since I had the whole lesson handed to me on a silver platter, when the mom who was scheduled unexpectedly had to cancel. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed all the little tricks the leprechaun played on us today. Green toilet water, cupcakes, starbursts, little hats, shamrocks to decorate...he was a sneaky little green guy.

Day 51--Petland

One of our favorite preschool field trips each year is to Petland pet store. The kids are always completely enamored at the wide assortment of animals and all the moms have an excuse to hang out and talk with each other!
Here they are ogling over the guinea pigs!

Then it was off to lunch at Subway where there was a lot of giggling and silliness and a whole lot of Cheetos and chocolate milk being consumed!

I Believe in Arranged Marriages

You may think that my kids are a little young for me to be thinking too much about marriage yet, but I do. Pondering over possible matches for them has become a regular past-time for me since Spencer was a toddler.

At first, I was a little worried that my kids wouldn't really want their Mom choosing their spouses for them, but I just read an article that arranged marriages are making a comeback, so I'm sure they won't mind a bit.

Thus far, most of our matchmaking has been pretty one-sided, but we've got a couple of them all set to go...

Cami's future husband moved away a couple of years ago, but since his parents are in full support of their union we figure we'll just wait until they're back from their missions, reintroduce them, and ZAMMO! Cami and JT together forever. They'll thank us later for our foresight.

With Adam, we just had to wait for the right girl to come along. She's everything we could ever want in a daughter-in-law. She's cute, friendly, smart, righteous, comes from a great family, and gets along well with all my kids. Here's a cute picture of the happy couple.

Day 9--Silliness Overload!

It was a wild Friday night with lots of princess dress-ups, fake screaming, and loads of silliness!

Not shown: The knight in shining armor, Adam, who kept the girls screaming and running!
