Lazy Dazy Saturday...

It was just a lazy rainy Saturday morning.  Everyone slept in late.  We ate a hearty warm breakfast of Cami's apple walnut pancakes ....

while the kids labored diligently cutting out snowflakes....

to replace the autumn leaves on our front window...

when all of the sudden the beautiful paper snowflake creations....

made way for a frosty flaky surprise falling from the sky.

With snow a rare and treasured treat in our neck of the words, the chores went on the back burner...

and made way for a day filled with snow angels....

 sledding and muddy snowmen...

a lucrative snow shoveling stint for Spencer and his friend....
(disclaimer: This photo was actually taken last year.  This year he worked with a different friend in another neighborhood [far away from my camera] and ended up with  105 bucks burning a hole in his pocket.)

a whole host of sopping wet socks, gloves, hats, scarves, and snow pants cluttering up our entry way....

and smiles galore.

PS  You'll find the answer to the last post tacked on to the end of it.

Our Wait is Over...

Welcome to my entry way:
An entry way of these disastrous proportions can only mean one thing:

SNOW!!!!!!!!

After a snow drought that had left my kids salivating every time a flake fell from the sky, they were thrilled beyond belief to wake up to a couple of inches of the white stuff this morning.

That may not seem like much snow to all you Utahns and Minnesotans out there, but it was plenty enough have the whole neighborhood over to take advantage of our famous hill!

Spencer and his friend Taylor aren't complaining about the $178 they earned from shoveling driveways in the neighborhood.

And I won't complain when all of my kids sleep like logs tonight from playing outside all day.

Although I might complain just a little if I wake up to find school canceled tomorrow. After two four-day week-ends in a row, I was really looking forward to getting back into my groove tomorrow.

Alas, with this as the forecast for tonight, things are not looking hopeful for my return to routine:

Wintry Mix
Wintry Mix
Low
27° F
Precip: 100%

But at least there's snow. And I definitely did ask for it.
