Day 70--Shoveling Out!

No, it didn't snow anymore. Today was just one of those days that was just never-ending and insane. I guess Glen felt sorry for me and the gigantic mess, so he let me sit down to blog instead of shoveling out from a long day. (Thank you hunny!)

Here's a cute picture of Ellie trying to keep me sane with a silly face.

Day 69--Running Late

I'm going to bed. It's been a long day. I took a few pictures, but haven't uploaded them to the computer yet and don't want to tonight. So here's a picture of Ellie's friend Bradford. We hosted preschool last minute this morning and had fun learning all about Peter and the Wolf. Bradford was trying out the clarinet.

Bonus points for anyone who can tell me which character the clarinet represented.

Anyone? Anyone?

Day 68--Love thy Neighbor

Sadly I have to admit that we don't wash our car very often. However with all the driving around to the airports, funeral, viewing, etc. we had to do during Sunday/Monday's snowstorm we ended up with our car just caked with salt and chemicals. It was too grimy even for our low standards...so I set aside my laziness just long enough to send the kids out to wash it off.

When our neighbor saw me shooting pictures of the kids in process, he asked me [seriously]...

"It's been so long since your car was clean that you're taking a picture of the occasion?"

Uh, yeah. He's been scratched from our Christmas cookie list.

Day 67--Not the Picture I was Hoping For...

Today's picture was supposed to be of Ellie sharing her favorite scripture in primary (her first time as a new Sunbeam). She worked really hard on it, had it all memorized, and did such a cute job and I had the whole blog post already planned out. All Glen had to do was take the picture.

Ummm, so that didn't quite work out so well, so here's a picture of Glen writing his Dad a letter as part of our weekly letter writing tradition.

Day 66--Cheap Therapy

It's been a long couple of weeks. So when the thermometer hit 77° today (yes it did snow 5 inches on Monday), we decided to go on a long walk around the lake.

It was four plus miles of fresh air, sunshine, exercise, talking, and laughing...the best kind of therapy money could never buy.

Day 65--Entire Paycheck to Papa Johns

Right now I have 8 ravenous basketball players hanging out in my basement watching Hoosiers with their awesome coach. Play-offs start next week, so Coach Glen wanted to get them psyched up with a good old-fashioned basketball feel-good story. It was Glen's first time coaching anything and I think he rather liked it. :)

I think Papa Johns rather likes us this week too.

Day 64--Mrs. Mike

Today I spent the evening making my famous apple pie for book group and then made dinner as an afterthought. I conveniently angled this photo so that you couldn't see the big chunk my kids took from the pie after strict orders not to touch it. I also conveniently did NOT tape record the yelling that occurred directly after the missing chunk was discovered.
