The joy of your birthday being on a busy holiday---it gets stretched out for weeks on end. Although we already had her friend party last week, and her special birthday breakfast (crepes made by daddy) yesterday, there was no way on earth I was going to make a cake on an already sugary and busy day. Since Emma wanted brownies for her birthday "cake" I decided to try to find some way to incorporate some of their Halloween candy. So I took donations of 2 snickers bars each from the kids and made her snickers brownies. They tasted a lot like regular brownies, but I'm sure had lots more calories with all those snickers bars thrown in there. Anyway, Emma had a wonderful birthday celebration and finally got to open her presents.
