100% Awesome!

After....

  • Hours and hours of intense drilling,
  • Gallons of tears,
  • A parent-teacher conference,
  • Pop quizzes at school AND at home....

Emma the third grade multiplication queen has arrived!

 Emma   +   Four minutes   +   Thirty-eight problems   =   100% AWESOME!

Way to go Emma!  We're so proud of your hard work and perserverance!

So, I was just remembering that I didn't have to learn my multiplication facts until fourth grade.  Is this a nationwide trend to do it a year earlier?  Or is it just our school district?  Do you remember when you learned multiplication?

Yay, Emma! Great work. It isn't easy...we understand the buckets of tears over multiplication facts here, too. :)

Way to go Emmakins!! We are so proud of you and your hard work.

Math does not come easy for most of us, so your 100% is quite an achievement.

Congrats!!

When I taught school 24 years ago or so....I started teaching multiplication tables in second grade.... Some kids had them ready by then, and some didn't.

Congratulations to Emma!

I remember really getting drilled on multiplication in fifth grade. We may have started it in fourth before but it wasn't as focused.

All schools across the nation are moving things back though. With all the new information they have to start teaching things earlier and earlier.
