An Ode to Costco

Thank you, Costco, for all the things
That mean so much to me--
For prices low and ginormous sizes;
You sell to me abundantly.

Your cheese and milk fill up my cart;
Along with Tide and juice and socks so new;
And I always feel so doggone smart
When my T.P. stash lasts through the next blue moon.

It's plain to see that I may be your biggest fan,
But I wonder if you could please explain,
With all the money which on you we spend;
Why, oh why, Costco, are you still not my friend?

It's true that  you torture me so
With the painful way you make my wallet drain;
And for the crowded aisles and lines so slow!

But, this dear Costco, is just too much!
Strawberries and apples rolling down the street
Along with meat and juice that squashed my feet.

My aching back, my tired legs,
All from chasing after errant eggs.
Don't you think it's time to call a truce,
And at least send me to a nice masseuse?

Awesome poem Lara!

Not the ending I expected! How annoying to have everything fall out of the van when you got home! Hope you caught all the runaways!

I like that you stopped to take a picture.

A lot of truth in your little tribute to our friends at Costco.

Mom and I spent $140 there last night and it took us almost half an hour to bring everything in from the garage.

We love the place and always go in while we are hungry and make a little meal out of all the samples. Plan it right and you end up with a three course meal plus dessert and a drink.

And if we don't get filled up, we can always top off our meal with a $1.50 Polish + drink and a churrito. What a deal!

Hehe. I too love how you had the presence of mind to snap a pic of the whole thing. Sign of a true blogger - and it gives us all a little insight into some of the things you normally buy.

I also love the socks running away in the distance - Ellie?

Oh no. What a mess. I hope most of it was salvageable.

I too love that you had the perspective to step back and take a picture of it all...and then write a fun poem to go with it!

I'm smiling because all I see are two little feet on the right side of your van running away. My kids would run away really quickly too if a whole Costco trip spilled out of our van, in order to avoid helping to pick it up! :)

Taking that picture and writing the poem was the only thing that kept me from crying.
