Please help me answer this recent inquiry I received....
Dear Lara,
I have this problem that I need your help with. You see, I have this blog that I really like. I think it likes me too, but I can't be sure. I try to give a little time to it almost every day, but I'm kind of busy and it usually gets pushed to the end of the day when I'm really tired. Although I try hard to put my best effort into the relationship, I think my late night efforts are starting to take their toll on us. Not only am I getting kind of cranky, but it also seems like most of my irresistible charm and humor (I know these terms are generous) are gone by that time of night.
So what do I do? Only communicate with my blog when I'm coherent and wide awake and hope I don't offend it with my sudden neglect? Or keep babbling incoherently and hope that I don't embarrass myself too much? What to do...what to do....
Please help.
Sincerely,
Bloggin' It From the 'Burbs

Dear BIFTB,
How quiet the blogland would be, if only the wise and the coherent should post. Not to mention that your mental health is at stake. In the words of my famous friend Dory of Nemo fame, "keep on bloggin', keep on bloggin', keep on bloggin'...."
Sincerely,
Someone older and wiser than you
Dear Burb Blogger,
Have you ever thought of having a neutral party read your posts before you press publish? This would prevent the most embarrassing statements from reaching the general public.
Sincerely,
A Concerned Friend
Dear "Concerned Friend",
Of course I've thought to have someone proofread my posts and weed out the lame attempts at late-night humor, but based on the very fact that it's LATE-NIGHT humor, there's rarely anyone available to proofread. And those that may be in my vicinity are usually somewhat annoyed at the faint glow of my Mac keeping them awake and will say they love it just to get me to go to bed.
Sincerely,
Bloggin' It From the 'Burbs Again...
Dear Burb Blogger,
It's me, another concerned friend. Have you ever thought of taking a break from your "lover blog" and folding your clean clothes instead?
Sincerely,
Another concerned "friend" who also happens to share a sleep number mattress with you
Dear concerned "friend" who also happens to share a sleep number mattress with me,
When the day comes that I stop blogging, you should do two things quickly....
Check my pulse and/or fix the computer.
Sincerely,
BIFTB again
Dear BB,
May I just point out that your early morning humor is equally, if not more lame that your late night humor? Perhaps it's best to stick with the status quo.
Sincerely,
Built-in Humor Meter
Dear Burbly Blogger,
There's always the option of starting another blog under an alias, this one only for late night ramblings. That way you get your outlet, and some anonymity, if that is what you desire.
Sincerely,
One who should not give blogging advice
keep on keeping on. blog away.
Dear "Denise",
You rock! °Ü°
Sincerely,
BB
Dear "One Who should Not Give Blogging Advice",
Yes, I have thought of such an option. My only problem with that is, is that blogging would definitely not be near as fun if no one read it. I'm fully aware of the fact that part of what makes my humor occasionally funny is knowing that it's me--someone who's kind of serious and stodgy and has never uttered a witty remark in her life.
Thanks for your input.
Sincerely,
BB
Dear "Built-in Humor Meter",
Touché. I was aware of this fact, however humor aside I do tend to say less embarrassing things in daylight hours when my brain is slightly higher functioning.
Sincerely,
BB
Wow! Another good laugh. I say keep on blogging, keep your creative outlet, keep your sanity. I enjoy your blog immensely.
I concur with Denise :)
Keep bloggin girl. Your late night posts are the best!
I love that Glen chimed in. I don't think I could get Tom to comment if I paid him.
K, I think that that comment from Glen may have actually been from Lara pretending to be Glen. Just saying. I personally think that Lara is hilarious in the morning, at noon, and in the late night hours. I may not comment enough, but I definitely think that you need to continue blogging. Although, I think that you should probably embarrass your kids more often on the blog. I mean, when is the last time that you posted a really embarrassing picture of Spencer? Such pictures must exist. Also could you also write more about your awesome siblings, particularly the siblings that live relatively nearby?
I object most vehemently to the above comment. Good thing no embarrassing pictures of me could possibly exist, since I, like the Amish (or some other such group), think that having my picture taken will damage my soul. I ask that you respect my beliefs and refrain from photographing me at all. Thank you.
Time to go see your clergyman dearie. He can certainly help you through this mid-life crisis. Breaking up can be hard to do.
A concerned friend.
