***

The mission:  Make this garbage bag full of old important papers disappear from our bedroom.

The options:

1.  Spend hours and hours hovered over an obnoxiously loud paper shredder that overheats every 20 minutes or so.

OR

2.  BURN THEM!!!!!

So we chose option #2 and made a fun day out of it.   We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows to glorious perfection.  Ran, climbed, and chased.  Ate s'mores.  Got covered in mud.  Explored in the woods.  And burned our entire bag of papers to a pile of worthless ashes.

Then we went home and slept in our own beds...which made it the best camping trip....EVER!

Mission Accomplished!

My favorite things about camping. S'mores and hot dogs! Sleeping in your own bed absolutely makes it perfect!

That's a lot of mud. Is it left over from the snow?

I read an article once in Family Fun magazine about camping in the off season. They did exactly what you did....did all the fun camping stuff the kids wanted to do, then came home and slept in their own beds. That's awesome!

Looks like an awesome way to get rid of some old papers :) Where did you go?
Roasting hot dogs and marshmallows and making s'mores is pretty much the best part of camping :)

Lake Fairfax is where we went. We actually ended up having to pay for a campsite, but it ended up being so much fun that it was worth it.
