How to Disorient a Middle Aged Mom...

I am a creature of habit.

I have a routine for everything...waking up, showering, making lunches, getting kids on bus, grocery shopping, dinner time, cleaning up, bedtime, etc. It's one of the things that keeps me sane.

Today I ran into my local Safeway to pick up a couple of items I was running low on. I like Safeway. It's bright. It's clean. Everyone's friendly. It's only a half mile from my house. I know where everything is.

Wait. Scratch that.

I know KNEW where everything is WAS.

For some inexplicable reason, they've taken everything off the shelves and shuffled it around. They say they're trying to reorganize, I say they're trying to mess with the middle aged Mom!

Not only is NOTHING where it used to be, but since they're in the middle of the reorganization process none of the aisle signs were correct either.

What are they trying to do to me?

I was so disoriented after I left with only half my grocery list, I promptly called Glen to tell him something important. Except I didn't really call Glen. I called Nate, called him "Hunny", told him I loved him, and left him a great message all about kids and life.

Now all I need is for Glen to go out of town and for guests to start arriving to really mess me up...

Oh wait. I'm already there.

First of all, you are NOT middle aged. Good grief you are only two years older than me! Secondly, Safeway is NOT a cool store. Remember that please. Do not shop there again. I boycotted long ago, now join me. HAHAHAHA!

I regularly call someone and say "I Love You" at the end because I'm so used to talking to Tom. It's all good. At least it was Nate and not your home teachers, right? (o:

I agree with K, you are not middle-aged (especially since I am a few months older than you and I refuse to believe I am anywhere in the middle-age catergory)

But I do admit, I do hate when they change things around. I pride myself on how quick I can get in and out of a grocery store, as long as all the stuff are in their right spots!! Another pickle that I hate is when they stop selling food that I love to get and their isn't any place else to buy it!! I have total issues there.

Well, I think you are TOTALLY middle-aged...and I am so okay with that...because I know I am suffering these same issues...and it has to be middle age, right? it just has to be.

I went shopping today at Safeway also and only got half the things I needed. It was a mess. I started in the fruits and veggies isle so I didn't notice for a while, but couldn't figure out what I needed since everything was such a mess.

Hey that is why Monte does all the shopping in our house. I don't like to shop. Put the items in the cart, take them out, put the bags in the cart, put them in the car, take them in the house, and then put them away! YUCK!
