Bragging a Little...

Did I ever tell you about the time when I cleaned out my refrigerator without gagging even once? Or the time when I taught my kids to count to infinity...twice? Oh, and who could ever forget the time when I hinted that my daughter loves comments and all my friends totally rocked and left her 20!? That was sweet!

You see, I like to brag. I brag about myself. I brag about my kids. I brag about my friends' kids. Heck, I even brag about the baby weight I still carry around my middle, four plus years after my last baby.

With all this bragging and blogging I like to do, it shouldn't come of too much of a surprise that I have a bit of a superiority complex.

For instance, if I see someone thin and beautiful, I tell myself that my love handles, age spots, and jiggly thighs make me a more comfortable friend than the thin/beautiful girl. You can hang around me unshowered and in your old sweats and you don't have to be embarrassed, because you'll still look way cuter than me.

Clean houses, same thing. I think it's great and all that some people can keep a clean, organized home, but you come to my house and you leave feeling like you're the best house-keeper in the world. Heck, I don't even want a clean house anymore. I'm more than happy being your low standard for excellence.

See there, instead of getting upset at my shortcomings, I've turned the tables and made mine the more desirable of the traits. It's a useful skill in my situation.

So, there's one thing I've never bragged about before that I just can't wait to tell you all about. I've recently discovered something about myself that I never knew...

I may be the shortest in my family, but that doesn't stop me from being the awesomest jumping, leaping, bouncing, bounding, upspringing (cool word, huh?) girl in my whole family!

Go ahead. Ignore the thirty pounds and tell me I rock. I'll agree with you whole-heartedly and I'll try not to let my superior bounding skills go to my head.

(Next post...shots of me jumping from 37 different angles with Spence measuring my vertical and comparing it to my sisters'.)

Not sure what stats Spencer came up with, but it certainly looks like you are at least the third best jumper/leaper/bounder in the family behind your two younger brothers: Nate and Pete.

And certainly the best of your sisters. We just might start calling your "Air Lara"

I totally disagree with your grandparents...you killed your brothers!

I don't know, it's a tough call. Your jump has the correct form (arms extended, hands not blocking your face and knees bent, and all that with a smile on your face), however ... your brother to your right does look like he got some vertical on you. Besides, it looks like he is doing either the hurdles or the long jump in the air, which is very difficult to do.

It's a toss up!

So wait, if I don't feel totally thin or organized or clean around you, does that make me way better than you?

Go Lara, Go Lara, Go Lara . . .

I must disagree. Form is way more important than height. And besides, you said you were the awesomest jumping, leaping, bouncing, bounding, upspringing (and yeah, that is a cool word) "girl" in your whole family. You've got all of the other girls beat hands down.

Those other girls barely got off the ground! Seriously, you are the BEST! You intimidate me with your upspringing ability.

Just for the record: I make absolutely no claims as to my jumping skills compared to Nate and Pete. Clearly Nate could easily jump over my head.

I always knew you were amazing...but who knew you could jump like that?! You are one talented woman! =)

At least I got off the ground which is more than I can say for some of my siblings. And Lara thanks for setting the bar too high for the rest of us!

I am leaving a comment. Also I would like to point out that I am on lower ground in this picture. I am now done leaving a comment. Thank you.
